If The Cuckoo Don't Crow

In this 90 second film the story is a man getting interviewed on the phone and is of a comedy genre. As the man is telling the story in the interview the animation is showing everything in a visual yet still funny way. Brian from Melton recounts how his mother had predicted Britain's great storm of 1987 and how the BBC told her not to be so 'daft'. This film is good because its of a real event of someones life and the accent of the man makes the story a lot funnier as he explains it, also the added information about the dog losing its ear is funny and unusual also the reactions of the interviewers causes you to laugh yourself.

The End

This film is very simple and effective using just one setting but the narrative is definitely evident to the audience. The film consists of an ordinary man at work in an office looking unhappy, then he spins his globe on his desk and the plot changes completely; the setting gets dark and the sound of people screaming and explosions which if you hadn't realized yet the globe is being represented as the real earth so when he moves it the earth moves just the same, it then abruptly ends with him knocking the globe off the desk and cut to black with sounds effects of the end of the earth. The low budget and good original idea of the story made me put it in my top three.

A2042

This 90 second film is in my top three because of its simple yet moral and unusual story. The film is all one shot making it suspenseful and unnerving. It starts with a close up on a mans face and he seems to be in distress, then the shot slowly zooms out and starts revealing bits of information. The first thing you notice is the police uniform which gives the story to the audience, but then reveals he is hiding or sitting behind a wall whilst there is lots of shooting and shouting sounds like there is a riot behind him. However there is a few ways you can interpret the narrative in this film because there is no dialogue. This film made it into my top three because of its deception and simplicity.
