1. The film is a documentary of Indonesian gangsters telling and re-enacting their methods of killing and torturing communists, it shows their culture and past.
2. The scene of the main gangster leader Anwar Congo coming to realization of the things he did standing in one of his most popular killing places he starts to gag and retch. It shows his emotions at this time and what he is feeling whilst reminiscing.
